Urban Planning And Cities Growth

 

According Global Health Observatory (GHO), the urban population in 2014, 7.2 billion people, accounted for 54% of the total global population, up from 34% in 1960, and the cities continue to grow. GHO estimates that the global urban population is expected to grow approximately 1.84% per year between 2015 and 2020, 1.63% per year between 2020 and 2025, and 1.44% per year between 2025 and 2030.

So, Urban Planning, a technical and political process concerned with the use of land, environment and public welfare is a crucial tool to provide the control of all activities in a city, involving transportation infrastructure, communications, water distribution systems etc.
